There are 2 couples (NSW and Penisulvania USA), 2 women from Melbourne and a Chinese girl from Sydney. We headed out just after 9 for a walking tour this took us from the station to San Marco it was a good little tour taking us to places, lanes we would never have found ourselves. After the tour broke up we went across the canal via water taxi to San Giorgio where we had lunch whilst we waited for the cathedral to reopen. Fortunately the was a lift to the top of the bell tower and we did get the 3 o'clock chimes, scared the crap out of everyone.
We then cut back across to San Marco and Tony and I walked down to the park while the girls went off shopping. Meeting on the steps at the station for tea at 6.
Our tour leader took us to this out of the way place where we had tea right on the edge of a canal, got home about 10:30 all stuffed, but a great day. |
