Street Rod Centre Rod Run[ HOME ] [ Page 1 ] [ Page 2 ] [ Page 3 ] [ Page 4 ] The event actually started on the Wednesday, this was to give those interstate entrants returning from the Isand State Nationals somthing to do. For most entrants the run started with their arrival on the Friday night. There was a civic reception held at the Ray Bradfield Rooms right in the middle of Castlemaine. The mayor spoke very highly of the Rodding Community in and around the Castlemaine area, especially the specialist industry which was now a major employer with over 200 workers. Also pleding to do more in the future. This was followed by a bench session and gave the entrants an opportunity to take a look at the fantastic presentation with had been on display for the 2 weeks prior to the event. Centre piece of the display was Pete Swift's T Bucket, but there was literally hundreds of photos, posters and magazine articles cronolicaling the history of Australian Hot Roding and the Castlemaine Club. Saturday was a fantastic day, the weather this time of the year can always guaranteed to be pleasant and it was just an ideal day for the Show and Shine. I like most people spent the remainder of the day talking and taking a look at the rods and customs. Some of which had not been seen for many years. There were 200 pre-entered and over another 50 entering on the Saturday. Sunday was the Swap meet [ HOME ] [ Page 1 ] [ Page 2 ] [ Page 3 ] [ Page 4 ]
