Simple Site layout
Often when talking to a new customer the two most popular questions we are asked is,
Here is an example of a typical simple site layout. It has all the basics, without anything fancy. After all it's your content that should be the stand out for these pages.
What will my site look like?
Well a typical simple site layout could look something like what I have detailed below. However it all depends on you and your business. You may look at it and say "It's the same as many other sites I've seen" and there are positives and negatives to this. On the negative, a visitor may look at it and think that they've seen this before and they don't have to delve any further. (Careful design, use of color and graphics should eliminate this). However on the positive, if a visitor is familiar with the navigation you've provided, they will concentrate on the content rather than, "where's the next page?"

Each page should at the very least show a back button, much more desirable is complete navigation around your site, surveys in useability have shown that if you provide graphical links on your pages you should also provide text links.
There are just as many other pages that you could include, here are some examples;
- Order Form - provide details online.
- Fax Form - Print the page and fax it back.
- Secure Page - used for encoding important or priveledge information, typically credit card details.
- Comments and Feedback - usually a form, an opportunity for a visitor to leave thier mark.
- Survey - an opportunity to collect information about vistors to your site.
- Message Board - generates loyality amogst users of the board.
- Frequently Asked Questions - list those questions that you get asked all the time.
- Site Map - useful when a visitor gets lost.
- Terms and Conditions - tell them what is and isn't included and what their obligations are.
- Copyright - discourage others from copying your hardwork and ideas.
- Disclaimer - Let the buyer beware.
- Post, Freight and Transport costs - let them know how much it's going to cost, who you use and how long it will take to get there.
- Password Protected - utilizes a login, only members past this point.
