Up early this morning to get to Fiumicino airport for our flight. Goodbye to Hotel Bianca, the conserge was actually sad to see me go. We decided to catch the bus instead of the train, just a short walk from the hotel and it was cheaper and easier with the bags and it worked really well.
Landed at Cote D'Azur Airport, flight was really good and bag collect the best yet. Took the airport shuttle bus to another bus terminus, where it was just a short, crowded trip to Nice Ville (Gare de Ville) Train Station, then walked down to the promenade, only had to walk along a little bit and there it was!
The Mercure hotel is bloody fantastic! I picked very well, air conditioning, great view, great location, all those little little things that we haven't had for a while. And free wi-fi! Had one of the best tuna salad rolls I've ever had for lunch then over to the beach, all stones and gets deep real quick but the most amazing blues in the water.
We had drinks in our room and then went to a Crepe Restaurant - 1 savory, 1 sweet, glass of wine and a coffee all for 11 euro, life is good. |
