Episode 106 : Pay in Pain
Following the shooting that has left seven gang members dead, Assistant Chief Gilroy sends the Strike Team to Watts to help Detective Carlos Zamora investigate. As former member of the El Toros, Zamora claims to have a good relationship with the gang’s leader Train Guttierez. While Zamora insists on handling the investigation his way, Vic and his men don’t hesitate to employ their rough tactics in order to elicit information from the El Toros. However, after a rival gang is not found responsible for the hit, a witness reveals the killer to be a white vigilante. Meanwhile, as Claudette looks for an easy case to help distract Dutch, both Tomas and Aceveda help Julien testify in the Internal Affairs investigation of Vic and his team. After Gilroy agrees with Latino community activist Raoul Jimenez’s request that he release an admittedly vague sketch, shooting suspect Michael Klassen’s in-laws are found shot to death. Though Klassen is the initial suspect in these shootings, too, Vic soon discovers he and his family have been nabbed by Guttierez’s gang. Meanwhile, as Claudette and Dutch investigate a psychic accused of fraud, Aceveda enlists car thief Deena Klein to help nail Vic. While Dutch thinks that the psychic could provide some information about the serial killer’s latest victim, Tomas tries to placate Julien by getting a job. And while Gilroy warns Aceveda against drawing any hasty conclusions about Vic’s guilt, Julien’s testimony convinces him that he has a big problem. Told that Train and his gang have the Klassen family, Vic and Carlos head to stop the revenge killing. But as they attempt to intercede, Klassen is shot after being forced to watch his wife being sexually assaulted by the El Toros. Finally, in an effort to keep the scandal from bringing both of their careers to an end, Gilroy presses Vic to turn over Shane as the one who stole the drugs. But, unwilling to bring a partner down, even one as unstable as Shane, Vic decides to threaten to expose Julien’s homosexuality in order to get him to cooperate Directed by: D.J.
