Ministry of Supply Memorandum 2 October 1940 states that “360 Chevrolet Lorries” had been acquired from diverted cargoes and had been assembled, and were being taken into use by the Army. The W.O. were anxious to put them into service as soon as possible but required spare parts [from Canada] in order to do so. It is thought that these were C.K.D. diverted from Antwerp.
