Thailand 2012 - Day 7

Day 7 Phuket - Koh Samui

Our last day at the Kee Resort and Patong Beach. I can quote Jude as saying she will definitely come back here.
Deb and Cam met us by the pool about 9:30. They got in last night, flew Air Asia and had a 5 hr stop over in Kula Lumpur so a long day traveling. They are staying at a resort 15 mins up the beach from us.
Transfer pick up was at 1pm and on the way to Phuket airport went through a real down pour, couldn't have timed our departure better. When we got to the airport the bus pulled right into the door and the girl who accompanied the driver came in with us and made sure our luggage was checked in and we had our tickets. Ben when you come definitely make sure you get Tour East and a great stress buster for your mother.
You were right Emily our flight to Koh Samui was delayed and even better after we presented our boarding passes we were ushered onto a bus and taken across the tarmac to our Bangkok Airways plane, a 70 seater turbo prop, you should have seen the look on your mothers face "we're not going on that are we? It has propellors!"
40 mins later we were landing at Samui Air Port. Took a little while to find our transfer but it all worked out ok, no where near as hectic as Phuket.
Very hot and humid with a misty/cloudy sky. 10 mins later we were at our hotel, the Kandaburi Resort and Spa, 20 Moo 2 Chaweng-Choengmon Road, Bophut, Koh Samui 84320, Thailand Ph: 0011 66 7 742 8888.
It's huge! It's actually split in 2 by the main road with hillside and beachside apartments. We had to wait a little while when registering, what was happening was they were upgrading our room for a corner room as it would have been "too far" for GrandMa to walk. We are hillside 4 stories up right at the front and the view is magnificent, and the room is huge! Closer to the pool and the breakfast room too. Jude had a quick walk down to the beach and was very impressed. We got settled in and enjoyed the sunset. Looking forward to some exploring tomorrow.
