Day 25 - Paris

Tuesday 27th September 2011

Late start as we were confirming flights and getting transfers for Tony and Max. We will just get a taxi back to Gare de Lyon.

Tony and Max were meeting friends for lunch, so we decided to try for Notre Dame again. The reason for the queue is you go in 20 at a time, up about 50 steps to a souvenir area then 200 steps straight up, then its another 100 steps to the bell tower.
I made the first bit and was pretty pleased with myself. The girls waited half an hour up top for the bell tower to open, they were first through the door. While I was waiting inthe square I spotted Tony and Max and not long after the girls got down, so we had a chance to catch up. They went shopping around the area and Karen, Jude and I jumped on the bus and went around to Musee d'Orsay, we had bought our tickets online so were able to virtually walk straight in past a big queue of people waiting to buy tickets. The museum was interesting I even recognized a couple of the paintings but for Jude it was Matric Art all over again. Then it was back to the hotel on the bus for Karen to get ready for some frilly knickers.

Tony, Max and Karen left for the Moulin Rouge and their Tolose la Trek dinner at 6, Jude and I went back in to the Eifel Tower for another light show this time from the Trocadero side and it was just as good, if not better. We had to take a taxi home and I got him to let us off on a street near where we were staying (6.40euro cheap), so we had our last dinner in Paris before returning to the apartment about 9:30. The others got home much later and Tony and Max were leaving at 6:30 to get to the airport to go to Greece.

I found out the next morning they had a great time and their table was virtually on the stage with Tony getting brushed by some of the costumes, that close.
