Had a last look around town and went to the criminal museum. I now have lots of new torture techniques to inflict, they also had an amazing collection of metal shaming masks depending upon what you were guilty of.
Back on the bus for our next leg of the Romantic Road, first stop Dinkelsbuhl. Very similar to Rothenberg but the streets were a bit wider, pity we only had half an hour. Just a quick walk around a couple of blocks and that was it. 2:10 - 2:40
Next stop was Nordlingen for a lousy 15 minutes, not long enough to do anything! 3.15 - 3.30
Hamburg Castle - didn't even stop
Augsburg - big city like Melbourne arrive 4:30
Drop off some passengers at the train station.
Stopped for 30mins in the middle of town, spent 30 cents at the dunny, ahhh. Leave 5:15
Drive through Munich in peak hour, not too bad!
We got to Hohenschwangau about 7:30 right on dusk and as you get closer you can see the mountains rise before you, then you turn down this road and there's the castle perched half way up the mountain, simply stunning!
Check in at Hotel Muller and it's just like a postcard. We were still in time to eat at the hotel restaurant and they gave us pride of place in the sun room, an amazing way to finish a long day in the bus. (Tony and I had roast deer for tea and it was really nice) washed down with a local Bitter. |
